Cure Kids are proud to be the official charity partner for the Christchurch Casino Golden Oldies Sports Celebration 2018.
Since 1971, they have funded more than $38million of vital medical research that has helped improve and save the lives of children living with serious illnesses and diseases both in New Zealand and around the world.
Cure Kids focus on raising funds to enable high-impact health research to develop preventative approaches, improved treatments and where possible, the cures our kids need.
The breadth of the work Cure Kids supports is wide; just some of the projects we have funded, or are currently funding include, childhood cancers, inherited heart conditions, cystic fibrosis, sudden unexpected death in infants (SUDI), stillbirth, burns, and child and adolescent mental health, among many others.
Chief Executive Officer, Frances Benge says that being part of the Christchurch Casino Golden Oldies Sports Celebration 2018 will help deliver Cure Kids vision of a healthy childhood for everyone.
“As New Zealand’s leading child health charity, our mission is to raise funds for medical research to find cures and treatments for a wide range of conditions that affect children. We want all our children to have the chance of a healthy adulthood where they can actively participate in all areas of life."
"We are truly honoured and excited to have been chosen as the official charity for this event. The McDermott family as a whole have been long-standing supporters of Cure Kids going back to the early 1970’s when we were first established. That support has had a significant impact on the lives of many children and their families. We are truly grateful for the ongoing support of Peter and Dianne McDermott’s VSL company, responsible for this amazing event."
"On behalf of the entire Cure Kids team, we wish everyone involved the most successful tournament. Carpe Diem!” – Frances Benge.
