15 - 22 April 2018

See the Brochure here

Squash has joined the Golden Oldies stable and will make its debut at the Christchurch Casino Golden Oldies Sports Celebration 2018.

Christchurch has a proud history of participation in squash, being one of the first venues for major events in New Zealand. It continues to produce top quality players and with some outstanding facilities it is well-placed to provide some wonderful opportunities for the 35+ age group of players who partake.

Just as important as playing time in a Golden Oldies event is enjoying the Golden Oldies creed of 'fun, friendship and fraternity'. And for that reason one of the cornerstones of the success of Golden Oldies events has been the equal attention paid to friends, families and supporters who are encouraged to get involved in the event as much as possible.

Highlights of the week will include the traditional pre-Festival get together and the end of Festival dinner and the midweek picnic has always been a big attraction.

Christchurch showed what it was capable of as a host venue for the Golden Oldies Rugby Festival in 1995, one of the biggest sports events to be hosted in the city, possibly only outdone by the 1974 Commonwealth Games. And with 10 sports involved this time around it should be another fascinating four weeks of sports activity.

As much as participation has been central to the success so has the friendships that have been made between people from all walks of life and from different places around the world.
