A five-times World Open Champion and Commonwealth Games gold medalist, Sarah’s passion for squash is undiminished after retiring from the top level. She is a regular on the masters tournament circuit, is a coach and mentor to a number of rising stars, is currently Vice-President of the World Squash Federation and, with her husband, is in the business of building and upgrading squash courts in Australia and New Zealand.
Sarah says it is exciting to see squash on the Golden Oldies programme for the first time. “Events such as masters and Golden Oldies are great for squash as they are a fantastic way to keep people in the sport, whatever their age. These events are also a wonderful opportunity to catch up with friends and other mad keen squashies like myself, and also take advantage of the opportunity to visit a new destination and take a holiday and explore.”
As a former Commonwealth Games gold medalist, Sarah will be attending next year’s games on the Gold Coast, Australia before heading to Christchurch to join squashies from New Zealand and abroad at the Golden Oldies World Squash Festival from 15 to 22 April.
